“Listen to the music” is the result of a two-year recording studio work where LowerB recreated his universe from heterogeneous elements, a kind of Björk and Miles Davis fusion, linked together by soli of this virtuoso saxophonist (listen to his several minutes incredible solo on “Deep in my mind” ) The listener is floating into a light and shade landscape , led by asymmetrical rythms and the lyrical and turbulent monologue of the saxophon. |

They met in 1995 at Berklee College of Music in Boston and have been collaborating since then. They start a jazz quartet in 1997 and win several prices : Wayne Shorter Award (Boston, USA), NDR Music Price (Germany), Europ' Jazz Contest (Belgium), Jazz in Vannes (France), Improvisation Competition Leipzig (Germany), Jazz contest of Franche-comté (France). They perform in many clubs (Germany/USA) and in international festivals as for example the « WDR Jazz festival » (Cologne) or « Jazz Across the Border » (Berlin). Although their sensitivity made them listen to traditional american jazz, their roots are european. Their music corresponds to this image, a complex mix of different cultures and sensitivities where communication and sensuality are the essential components. |
